Sometimes words fail us.
Talking could be something we’ve tried a million times. Sentences go round and round in the brain and we say we are “over-thinking” or ruminating. It can still be helpful to look at this with your therapist. However…
Play can be a great way to get past or underneath the words. We might use sand tray and natural objects and figures and toy sized models. There are other “creative apporaches” in the counselling room too.
Your therapist may suggest this approach to you. Why not be the first to suggest you play and use a creative approach yourself.
