About Sarah
I have been a qualified Alexander teacher since 1993. I was grateful to the Technique for helping me manage the pain in my neck and back, so it seemed natural that I should then train as a teacher to pass this skill on to other people.
I live in Brighton where I work from my Alexander practice room in Arnold Street, Hanover. I travel to Eastbourne every week to teach at the Natural Fitness Centre on the seafront promenade.
I thoroughly enjoy teaching this beautifully simple and practical method for change. “Why didn't I learn this when I was younger.” pupils often say “It's just common sense!”
As well as individual lessons at my practice, I am prepared to come and give talks, or workshops for groups and organisations. I am very happy to chat to you on the phone and answer questions by email.
Professional training
I trained full-time for three years at the Alexander Technique College in Brighton, from 1990 to 1993. Now, I regularly attend professional development training courses, lectures and workshops in order to keep my practice sharp and up to date.
As a member of The Society of Teachers of The Alexander Technique I follow its Code of Professional Conduct and hold professional indemnity insurance.
I also work as a counsellor. Though this is very separate from my work as an Alexander teacher, this training has enriched my personality.
